A little about me
The person behind the code: what I do, what drives me, and how I spend my time away from the keyboard.
Hello!
I'm a software engineer and Computer Science graduate from the University of Bath, with a strong foundation in Python and a focus on robust backends and data pipelines.
I build and integrate RESTful APIs with FastAPI and Flask, and design databases with SQL and Supabase. My work has ranged from a 20-year stock market database and its daily ETL pipeline to a machine learning model that analyses satellite imagery. I enjoy work that takes messy, real-world data and turns it into something reliable and useful.
I'm a collaborative engineer and at home in Agile/Scrum teams, whether that's an 8-person squad at Publicis Sapient or working directly with a CEO as a freelancer. I also enjoy the other side of the job: gathering requirements, presenting ideas and explaining technical work to people who aren't engineers.

Outside of code
I'm a big music lover. At school I played trumpet in the Brass Symphony, and since then both my taste and my instruments have evolved. At university I played bass and guitar in a rock/metal band, gigging at Moles (sadly now closed) and on campus with the Music Society.
Music
I play guitar, bass and drums almost daily, and I've written some (somewhat) listenable music.
Anything by the sea
Fishing, swimming and surfing. Give me a coastline and I'm happy.
